These appointments further strengthen Empress' global sourcing and investment evaluation capabilities in alignment with its strategy to accelerate portfolio growth through targeted opportunities in key regions.

Mr. Breetzke has held senior leadership roles at Standard Bank of South Africa, including Head of Mining, Energy, and Infrastructure; Co-Head of Debt, Investment Banking; and Executive Head of Core Sectors and Coverage in Business and Commercial banking. Earlier in his career, he worked in corporate law at Gold Fields and in commercial roles at Anglo American. He has led and structured financings for numerous African mining projects across multiple jurisdictions and commodities. Mr. Breetzke holds a BA in Economics and an LLB from the University of Cape Town, a Higher Diploma in Tax Law from the University of Witwatersrand, and a Management Development qualification from the University of Stellenbosch.
Mr. Algaranaz holds a dual degree in Economics and Management from the University of British Columbia, where he graduated with distinction, and is currently pursuing the CFA designation.
