Konica Minolta's bizhub i-Series Receives Keypoint Intelligence Security Validation Seal for Device Penetration
Third-party Testing Confirms Strong Protection of bizhub i-Series Against Device-level Cyber Threats
RAMSEY, NJ / ACCESS Newswire / April 2, 2026 / Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) is proud to announce its bizhub i-Series has earned the Security Validation Seal for Device Penetration from Keypoint Intelligence, a leading market research firm and independent evaluator of print and smart technology and services. The evaluation was carried out by security specialists using a combination of automated vulnerability assessment and hands-on manual issue verification. The goal was to identify weaknesses in device firmware, operating system components, web interfaces, ports, protocols and related network-exposed services.
The Device Penetration track of Keypoint Intelligence's Security Validation Testing program is designed to evaluate whether network-connected printers and MFPs are appropriately protected against likely attack vectors. The assessment includes reconnaissance and network mapping, automated vulnerability scans, manual verification of findings and targeted exploitation techniques focused on areas such as authentication, session management, unsecure services, exposed protocols, input validation, information leakage and other device-level weaknesses.
"Protecting customer data across the entire IT ecosystem - including print and imaging devices - is a critical responsibility we take seriously, and is fundamental to how we develop and deploy our workplace technology," said Chris Bilello, Vice President, Business Solutions Development, Konica Minolta. "This independent validation from Keypoint Intelligence reinforces the strength of our bizhub i-Series security architecture and reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering devices that help organizations mitigate risk and safeguard sensitive information in today's evolving threat landscape."
Results confirmed that Konica Minolta devices running bizhub i-Series firmware and configured with the recommended settings were well-protected against a wide range of anticipated threats. The Security Validation Device Penetration seal is awarded when no vulnerabilities are deemed High or Critical risk on the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) scale, with any Medium-risk findings evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
"Too often, IT teams focus on PCs, servers and network infrastructure when evaluating and monitoring for cybersecurity vulnerabilities, but printers and MFPs are also network endpoints that can present meaningful risk," noted Jamie Bsales, Principal Analyst for Smart Workplace & Security in Keypoint Intelligence's Workplace Group. "It is incumbent upon OEMs to ensure that their devices have the features to secure the data the printers handle as well as the wider network, and our testing showed that the bizhub i-Series platform demonstrated strong protections against common device penetration threats."
