The Be Inspirational Foundation Announces Honorees for the 2025 Colin Matthew $50,000 Hand-Up Award and Gala
Colin Matthew Award and Gala is Set for Sept. 6, 2025, at the Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA / ACCESS Newswire / July 15, 2025 / The Be Inspiration Foundation and the Saint Vinson Eugene Allen Foundation are proud to announce the distinguished 2025 honorees for the Colin Matthew $50,000 Hand-Up Awards and Gala. This year's event will celebrate the legendary careers of Keith David, Marla Gibbs, Garrett Morris, and Richard Lawson. This year's master of ceremony is comedian Dannon Green, with music guest R&B group Club Nouveau and a special guest appearance by actor Ernest Harden Jr. Each will be recognized for their remarkable body of work and significant contributions spanning more than three decades. The annual gala will be held on Sept. 6, 2025, at the historic Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel.
Last year's grand event was a remarkable success, drawing a distinguished crowd of city officials, mayors, dignitaries, and celebrities to raise funds for adults and children with special needs. Billed as "a night to remember," attendees were treated to dinner, an auction, and a live performance by recording artist Shanice. Thanks to the generous proceeds, the foundation provided essential resources such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, and transportation services to those in critical situations.
Hailed as the hot ticket in Los Angeles - "the place to be" - this year's Award Show and Gala is already generating significant buzz. As media campaigns and billboards launch across the city, the foundation anticipates the event will sell out quickly. Private screening for the live event is available for those who can't attend the event. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at the foundation's website beinspirational.org.
The Colin Matthew $50,000 Hand-Up Awards was created by Dr. Vinson Eugene Allen and his wife Dr. Connie Yu Allen who started the program in honor of their 11-year-old son Colin Matthew Allen. Young Colin is known for his generosity to the underserved communities and support of the homeless residents of Los Angeles. A portion of the proceeds from the 2025 Colin Matthew $50,000 Hand-Up Award will be dedicated to "Making Dreams Come True," an initiative sending 1,000 children from our program on a memorable day trip to Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. This event, slated for May 2026, is a key focus of the Hand-Up Award Gala, through which the foundation seeks to positively transform the lives of these families.
Dr. Vinson Eugene Allen is a trailblazer in American healthcare, the founder of both Dusk to Dawn Urgent Care - the nation's first African American-owned urgent care chain - and the vital Corona Virus Test Los Angeles facilities. Dr. Vinson Eugene Allen and Dr. Connie Yu Allen are celebrated as a legendary power couple; their work is more than healthcare - it is a movement of inspiration and a promise to continue serving humanity.
