U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright, EXIM Chairman John Jovanovic, Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen, Senators Deb Fischer and Pete Ricketts, and Congressman Adrian Smith to Visit NioCorp's Critical Minerals Mine Site
Federal and state leaders to visit southeast Nebraska critical minerals mine site and view construction activity underway
Event to be livestreamed at https://www.niocorp.com/event-livestream/
CENTENNIAL, CO / ACCESS Newswire / October 12, 2026 / NioCorp Developments Ltd. ("NioCorp," "our," or the "Company") (NASDAQ:NB), a leading U.S. critical minerals developer, is pleased to announce that U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Export-Import Bank of the United States ("EXIM") Chairman and President John Jovanovic, Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen, U.S. Senators Deb Fischer (R-NE) and Pete Ricketts (R-NE), and Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) will visit the Company's Elk Creek Critical Minerals Project (the "Elk Creek Project") mine site in southeast Nebraska on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
The officials are expected to deliver remarks, tour the construction underway at the Elk Creek mine site, and receive briefings from NioCorp leadership on its planned critical mineral products.
Because the Elk Creek site is an active construction area and access is subject to strict safety and security requirements, the October 14 event is not open to the general public. It can be viewed via livestream at https://www.niocorp.com/event-livestream/, which begins at 12:30 PM CT / 1:30 PM ET.
"We're extremely proud of what we're building in Nebraska, and we couldn't be happier to welcome Chairman Jovanovic, Secretary Wright, Governor Pillen, Senators Fischer and Ricketts and Congressman Smith to the Elk Creek Project," said Mark A. Smith, Executive Chairman and CEO of NioCorp. "This visit gives us the opportunity to show them firsthand the progress underway at the site, introduce them to some of the people helping us advance this effort, and discuss what Elk Creek can mean for American critical mineral security, manufacturing and jobs."
The visit comes as EXIM continues its review of NioCorp's application for potential debt financing for the Elk Creek Project under EXIM's Make More in America initiative.
NioCorp plans to produce niobium, scandium, titanium, and several magnetic rare earth elements at the Elk Creek Project. These materials are used across automotive, aerospace, energy, advanced manufacturing and defense applications. The United States is heavily import-dependent for these materials, including 100% net import reliance for several of the minerals NioCorp plans to produce.

ABOUT NIOCORP
NioCorp is developing the Elk Creek Project that is expected to produce niobium, scandium, titanium and several rare earth products, including neodymium-praseodymium oxide, dysprosium oxide, terbium oxide, samarium-europium-gadolinium ("SEG") carbonate, and heavy rare earth carbonate. Niobium is used to produce specialty alloys as well as High Strength, Low Alloy steel, which is a lighter, stronger steel used in automotive, structural, and pipeline applications. Scandium is a specialty metal that can be combined with Aluminum to make alloys with increased strength and improved corrosion resistance. Scandium is also a critical component of advanced solid oxide fuel cells. Titanium is used in various lightweight alloys and is a key component of pigments used in paper, paint and plastics and is also used for aerospace applications, armor, and medical implants. Magnetic rare earths, such as neodymium, praseodymium, terbium, and dysprosium are critical to the making of neodymium-iron-boron magnets, which are used across a wide variety of defense and civilian applications.
