Won his first four career PGA titles in a two-month run this year starting at the Phoenix Open and followed by the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the WGC Match Play and the Masters. He leaped to world number one and has remained there. Went 2-0-1 last year in his Ryder Cup debut.

Age: 30, PGA Tour wins: 8

Presidents Cup: 1 (2019) / 3-2-0

Won the BMW Championship to become first player to defend a title in the PGA playoffs. Captured the Zurich Classic alongside partner Xander Schauffele, his partner four times at the 2019 Cup, going 2-2.

XANDER SCHAUFFELE

Age: 28, PGA Tour wins: 7

Presidents Cup: 1 (2019) / 3-2-0

Tokyo Olympic champion snapped a three-year PGA win drought with win alongside Cantlay at Zurich Classic, then won the Travelers Championship and Scottish Open. Went 2-2 with Cantlay at 2019 Cup then beat Adam Scott 2-1 in singles at Melbourne.

SAM BURNS

Age: 26, PGA Tour wins: 4

Presidents Cup: Rookie

Defended his title at the PGA Valspar Championship in March, beating Davis Riley in a playoff, then won May's Charles Schwab Challenge in a playoff over world number one Scheffler. Was runner-up alongside 2022 Cup teammate Billy Horschel at the Zurich Classic.

JUSTIN THOMAS

Age: 29, PGA Tour wins: 15

Presidents Cup: 2 (2017, 2019) / 6-2-2

Won his second major title by capturing his second PGA Championship in May, defeating Will Zalatoris in a playoff at Southern Hills. Thomas made the greatest comeback in tournament history after starting Sunday’s final round seven shots adrift. Also won the 2017 PGA Championship at 2022 Cup host course Quail Hollow. Unbeaten in pairs matches in Presidents Cup.

Presidents Cup: 1 (2019) / 0-1-3

Won back-to-back PGA titles in July at the 3M Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic. Tied Hideki Matsuyama in singles at 2019 Cup.

MAX HOMA

Age: 31, PGA Tour wins: 4

Presidents Cup: Rookie

Won the PGA Wells Fargo Championship in Washington in May after having won the 2019 edition at Quail Hollow, host course for the 2022 Cup. Shared fifth in his first Tour Championship.

BILLY HORSCHEL

Age: 35, PGA Tour wins: 7

Presidents Cup: Rookie

Won the Memorial tournament in June for his seventh career PGA title. Was a runner-up at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and alongside Cup teammate Sam Burns at the Zurich Classic pairs event.

KEVIN KISNER

Age: 38 PGA Tour wins: 4

Presidents Cup: 1 (2017) / 2-0-2

Reached the WGC Match Play final for the third time in four years, losing to Scottie Scheffler 4&3. He won the Match Play crown in 2019. He shared third at the Sony Open in Hawaii and was fourth at the Players Championship.

COLLIN MORIKAWA

Presidents Cup: Rookie

The 2020 PGA Championship and 2021 British Open winner had a PGA season-best finish of second at Riviera. Was fifth at the Masters and shared fifth at the US Open, where he shared the 36-hole lead.

JORDAN SPIETH

Age: 29, PGA Tour wins: 13

Presidents Cup: 3 (2013, 2015, 2017) / 8-5-1

Won the Heritage title a week after the Masters by defeating Cup teammate Patrick Cantlay in a playoff. Runner-up at Pebble Beach and his hometown PGA event, the Byron Nelson. Reached the Cup team for the fourth time and second time as a captain's pick after missing out on the 2019 event.

Presidents Cup: Rookie

A five-time runner-up in his rookie PGA campaign, including in the Open Championship at St. Andrews. Also shared third at the PGA Championship.
