Arizona Tribune - Juventus sign Woltemade, Sarr on loan from Premier League

German striker Woltemade joins the Old Lady on a one-year loan deal, while Senegalese midfielder Sarr's move can be made permanent.

Juve, once the dominant force in Italian football but now fallen on hard times, have made a solid start to the Serie A season with two wins from two so far but nonetheless moved on transfer deadline day to "reinforce (coach) Luciano Spalletti's attacking ranks", according to a statement on their website.

Woltemade was Newcastle's marquee signing last summer when he moved from Stuttgart to St James's Park for a fee of £69 million ($94 million), but he struggled in his first season in England.

Despite a fine start in which he netted six times in his first 11 outings, the goals soon dried up for the 24-year-old.

In 53 appearances for the Magpies, he scored 11 times and laid on six assists.

Woltemade was included in Germany's World Cup squad but his only action was a cameo in their shock round-of-32 exit to Paraguay.

Sarr, 23, arrives on a one-year deal with an "obligation for Juventus to acquire the player's registration rights" for a fee of 27.5 million euros ($31.9 million), should Sarr fulfil certain conditions during his loan period.

A Europa League winner in 2025, Sarr made 141 appearances in all competitions for Spurs, scoring 11 goals and providing the same number of assists.

He joins ex-Spurs team-mate and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who made the move from north London to Turin earlier in the close-season as Juventus seek to improve on their sixth-place league finish last term.
