Laser Photonics Secures $1.05 Million Order from U.S. Pharmaceutical Manufacturer for High-Speed Tablet Drilling System
ORLANDO, FL / ACCESS Newswire / August 24, 2026 / Laser Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ:LASE) ("Laser Photonics" or the "Company"), a global leader in laser systems for industrial and defense applications, today announced that its subsidiary, CMS Laser, has received a purchase order valued at approximately $1.05 million from a U.S.-based pharmaceutical company for a TD-70 high-speed pharmaceutical tablet drilling system. The order represents a first-time purchase by this customer and marks the Company's entry into a new pharmaceutical manufacturing account, further extending CMS Laser's precision laser drilling franchise within one of the most quality-intensive and highly regulated end markets it serves.
The TD-70 drills the precision orifices that regulate how controlled-release medications are delivered to patients, an application where a fraction of a millimeter can determine therapeutic performance. Two capabilities drove the customer's selection: throughput of up to 70,000 tablets per hour, and a dual-camera vision system that inspects every tablet twice, automatically rejecting any unit outside specification before it moves downstream. Detailed technical specifications for the platform are available on the CMS Laser website.
Notably, the order covers a complete production line rather than a single machine. Alongside the drilling system, CMS Laser is supplying the tablet handling tooling and conveyor transport that integrate the platform into the customer's production flow, together with the full IQ, OQ, and PQ validation package and on-site installation by its own engineers. That is the documentation and support a pharmaceutical manufacturer needs to qualify new equipment under its GMP quality system, and providing it as part of the order positions CMS Laser inside the customer's qualification process as a technical partner rather than solely an equipment vendor. The Company believes a successful deployment has the potential to support additional system orders as the relationship develops. The system will be built at CMS Laser's manufacturing facility in Winter Park, Florida.
The order follows the Company's expansion into precision medical device manufacturing announced in May 2026, reflecting continued commercial traction for CMS Laser's precision drilling platforms across regulated, high-value healthcare end markets.
In addition to this order, Laser Photonics intends to expand its investment in CMS Laser and its technology platform as part of a broader strategy to support the subsidiary's growth and continued product development. The Company views precision laser drilling as a core capability within its portfolio and intends to direct additional resources toward CMS Laser's engineering, product development, and production capabilities in support of demand across pharmaceutical, medical device, and other regulated end markets.
Management Commentary
"This order reflects the strength of CMS Laser's position in pharmaceutical manufacturing and our ability to win new customers on the basis of engineering capability and process quality," said Ann Tewari, Interim President of Laser Photonics. "Laser drilling for controlled-release tablets is an application where there is very little tolerance for variability, because the orifice we create determines how the medication is delivered to the patient. Our customer evaluated the TD-70 against that standard and selected it for a production-scale deployment, which we view as a meaningful validation of the platform. Just as important, we are delivering the tooling, the transport and the full validation package alongside the system, so the customer receives a production line they can qualify and run. Establishing that capability inside a new customer's operations at production scale is exactly the kind of foothold we look to build on."
