AtlantiCare Teams Up With Egg Harbor Family Dental to Expand Senior Services
New collaboration brings greater access to preventive dental and coordinated medical care for aging adults across southern New Jersey.
EGG HARBOR CITY, NEW JERSEY / ACCESS Newswire / April 30, 2025 / Egg Harbor Family Dental and ProSmile Management today announced a new collaboration with AtlantiCare, joining its Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) as a participating provider, expanding access to integrated dental care for seniors in southern New Jersey.
AtlantiCare and Egg Harbor Family Dental Partnership for Senior Care
By joining AtlantiCare's PACE program, known locally as LIFE Connection, Egg Harbor Family Dental enhances a care model that already includes comprehensive medical, behavioral health, and social support services. This collaboration aims to identify and address oral health issues early, helping to prevent dental conditions from escalating into more serious medical concerns and supporting seniors in maintaining their independence.
"Our goal is to make dental and medical care more easily accessible to all members of the community, especially seniors who may have difficulty traveling or navigating the complexities of healthcare," said Hugh Carey CEO of ProSmile Management, the Dental Support Organization who, supports Egg Harbor Family Dental. "By offering expanded services to AtlantiCare's PACE patients, we are able to ensure that older adults receive timely and effective care, preventing dental emergencies and improving their quality of life."
AtlantiCare's dental practice, located in the Medical Arts Pavilion in Atlantic City, has been serving the community for more than a year through its Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) program. The practice offers primary and preventive dental care, including regular check-ups, cleanings, oral health education, fillings, and extractions, for both children and adults. The addition of Egg Harbor Family Dental to the PACE provider network supports AtlantiCare's broader mission to expand access to whole-person care.
"Expanding access to care across our communities, especially for those who are most vulnerable, is central to AtlantiCare's mission," said Sandy Festa, Assistant Vice President and Executive Director of the Federally Qualified Health Center and PACE at AtlantiCare. "Working with Egg Harbor Family Dental as an extension of our services reinforces our commitment to delivering comprehensive, compassionate care. By integrating medical, dental, and social support, we're helping older adults live healthier, more independent lives."
Preventive dental care plays a critical role in overall health, particularly for older adults who face greater risks of complications from gum disease, tooth loss, and untreated infections. Working together, ProSmile Management and AtlantiCare's LIFE Connection team are expanding access to coordinated, personalized care, supporting seniors across southern New Jersey in aging with dignity, independence, and improved health.
