TABLE FOR TWO and JETRO’s “ONIGIRI ACTION With SAKANA” Campaign in San Diego
Aims to Provide School Meals to Children in Need
TABLE FOR TWO USA (TFT) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) invite everyone to participate in the "ONIGIRI ACTION with SAKANA" campaign, which will be held in San Diego to provide school meals to children in need from Friday, January 31 to Sunday, February 9, 2025.
Eat Onigiri (Japanese rice ball) with Sakana (Seafood from Japan) for a cause!
ONIGIRI ACTION with SAKANA is a social good campaign connecting the simple act of taking a photo with helping to feed school children in need. The campaign highlights Onigiri (rice balls), a traditional Japanese comfort food made with love to share with others, and Sakana, seafood from Japan. During the campaign, 10 participating restaurants in San Diego will feature new "Onigiri" menu items made with rice and seafood from Japan. When ordering one of the onigiri menu items, take a photo of it and post on social media using #OnigiriAction and #JapaneseSeafood to provide 5 school meals to children in need in the United States and East Africa.
ONIGIRI ACTION with SAKANA will take place at the following Participating Restaurants:
Baikohken, Beshock Carlsbad, Beshock East Village, Hatsuzakura, Hinotez, Matsu, Mi'So Hungry, Tanuki, Yakitori Hino, Yakyudori. At Mi'So Hungry, it will be held from January 25 - February 9.
Additionally, join the "Stamp Quest," where participants have a chance to win an original "Onigiri" bag and 2 pounds of Japanese rice from The Rice Factory. To participate, follow these three steps: First, order one special onigiri to get a Stamp Quest card then post your onigiri photo on social media with #OnigiriAction #JapaneseSeafood. Second, return to a participating venue on a different day and order another special onigiri. Third, show the Stamp Quest card to restaurant staff to claim your prize.
